The new 2012 Atomic Punx is the top shelf pipe, park, and urban ski for Atomic’s stacked freeski team. Being a true twin tip, the Atomic Punx has a perfectly symmetrical shape to ski switch just as well as forward. Atomic’s freeski engineers used every trick in the book to make the Punx the ultimate freeski. They included a ridiculously light wood core that can’t help but pop off every feature, and designed the ski with slanted sidewalls to add strength for daily jibbing abuse and increased ollie power. To increase pop even more, the Punx incorporates a simple camber profile into the wood core, upping your boost power off any hit or rail. The Punx was also designed with the brand new Resist Edge to protect the edges against pull out and cracking. We don’t know how the Atomic ski engineers fit all these features into one ski, but just check out what Andreas and Jossi have been able to pull off on the same ski you could get today!
